These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of gear-reviews.com and its reviews, guides, forms, community features, and other content or services (collectively, the “Site”). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms.

Important setup note: these are practical starter terms, not jurisdiction-specific legal advice. Have qualified counsel adapt the governing law, dispute, consumer-rights, affiliate, advertising, and business-entity provisions before launch.

1. Use of the site

You may use the Site for lawful, personal, and informational purposes. You may not interfere with the Site; attempt unauthorized access; scrape or copy content at unreasonable volume; introduce malicious code; impersonate another person; submit unlawful, deceptive, infringing, or abusive material; or use the Site in a way that violates applicable law.

2. Editorial content

Reviews, guides, ratings, opinions, and recommendations reflect the information, testing conditions, products, and editorial judgments available when published. Products, specifications, prices, availability, warranties, and safety guidance may change. We may correct, revise, or remove content at any time.

3. Outdoor safety

Outdoor activities involve risk. Site content is general information and is not a substitute for manufacturer instructions, professional training, local regulations, current weather and hazard information, medical advice, or your own judgment. You are responsible for selecting, inspecting, maintaining, and using equipment appropriately for your skills and conditions.

4. Commercial and affiliate relationships

The Site may in the future use affiliate links, advertising, sponsorships, or other commercial arrangements. When used, material relationships should be disclosed clearly. Compensation does not purchase a review score, conclusion, or advance approval of editorial copy.

5. Product samples and partnership enquiries

Submitting information or sending a product does not create a contract, confidential relationship, obligation to review, obligation to return, publication deadline, or guarantee of favorable coverage. Sample handling, loan terms, shipping, embargoes, and return arrangements should be agreed in writing before shipment. Unsolicited products may be declined, returned at the sender’s cost, donated, or responsibly disposed of where lawful.

6. Messages and other submissions

You represent that you have the right to submit any information, text, images, feedback, or materials you provide. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, adapt, and display submissions as reasonably necessary to respond, evaluate a proposal, operate the Site, or publish material you explicitly offer for publication. Do not submit confidential information unless we have agreed in writing to receive it as confidential.

7. Intellectual property

The Site and its original text, design, graphics, logos, photographs, code, and compilation are owned by or licensed to Gear Reviews and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except as allowed by law, you may not reproduce, republish, sell, or create derivative works from substantial portions of the Site without permission.

8. Third-party links and services

The Site may link to retailers, manufacturers, platforms, or other third parties. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their availability, content, privacy practices, pricing, fulfillment, warranties, or security. Your dealings with a third party are governed by its terms.

9. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Site is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gear Reviews and its owners, contributors, affiliates, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; loss of profits, data, goodwill, or opportunity; product failure; personal injury; property damage; or decisions made in reliance on Site content. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the minimum amount permitted by applicable law.

11. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold Gear Reviews harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your misuse of the Site, violation of these Terms, or infringement of another person’s rights.

12. Suspension and termination

We may restrict or terminate access to the Site when reasonably necessary to protect the Site, users, rights, security, or legal compliance. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

13. Governing terms

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the entity operating Gear Reviews, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory local law provides otherwise. Insert the correct entity name, address, governing law, venue, and any required dispute-resolution language before launch.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Site or our practices change. Updated Terms take effect when posted unless a later date is stated. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
